    Janani operates 14 Surya Family Planning Clinics across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh, established in 1998 as a pioneering reproductive health franchising network. By 2021, it had served over 1.6 million clients, meeting the high demand for permanent and long-acting contraceptive methods. Its services include female sterilization, male sterilization, IUD insertions, contraceptive injections, and safe abortions. These clinics are accredited by the Government of India under the National Health Mission and National Contraceptive Social Marketing Programme, often serving as the sole accredited private providers in underserved districts. To boost awareness and demand for family planning, Janani collaborates with community health workers and key community members and provides outreach services at Government facilities through a network of motivators and community health workers.

It provides emergency contraception with Postpil 72, oral contraceptive pills like Apsara and Trust, and the Urvashi Intra Uterine Device (IUD) in three variants, offering long-term contraception. Janani also supports medical abortion with Trust Miso Tablets and Safe T Kit. Its commitment to comprehensive reproductive health solutions is evident, ensuring individuals have access to a wide array of products to make informed choices about family planning.

From 1995 to 2021, Janani's impactful efforts have averted 12 million unwanted pregnancies, provided 42 million contraceptive protection years (CYPs), prevented 19,521 maternal deaths, averted 6 million unsafe abortions, conducted 774,403 tubal ligations, performed 18,790 non-scalpel vasectomies, inserted 207,225 IUDs, administered 170,851 injections, and conducted 382,840 safe abortions, significantly contributing to reproductive health and family planning in India.
