About Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti (PSVS) Introduction, Mission & History Parivartan Samaj Vikas Samiti (PSVS) was founded on 26 April 2002 under the Society Registration Act 1973 Read more973 (Reg. No. 569, Bilaspur) with a simple yet ambitious vision: to catalyze positive change and foster holistic development in rural and tribal communities of central India . From the outset, PSVS has embraced a people-centric ethos—leveraging grassroots engagement, strategic partnerships, and inclusive governance to address the multifaceted challenges faced by marginalized groups. ● Vision: An equitable society where every individual enjoys access to essential services, opportunities, and a dignified life. ● Mission: To transform lives through sustainable interventions in livelihood enhancement, healthcare, rehabilitation, poverty alleviation, gender equality, education, and land-based income generation. Key milestones in PSVS’s evolution: 1. 2002–2005: Foundational Phase ○ Began with health camps and educational support targeting mining labourers’ families in Korba district. ○ Launched nutritional and medical awareness programmes, establishing trust within tribal hamlets. 2. 2005–2010: Dairy Livelihood Project ○ Deployed 200 high-yield cows and built milk-processing units in Korba, uplifting ~250 tribal milkmen’s households . ○ Provided technical training in animal husbandry and dairy management, raising average family incomes from ₹3,000 to ₹10,000 per month. 3. 2011–2017: Crèche Network Expansion ○ Partnered with the Central Social Welfare Board to establish 170 crèches across Chhattisgarh’s tribal villages, serving over 4,000 children with childcare, nutrition, primary schooling, and first aid . 4. 2018–Present: Geographic & Thematic Diversification ○ Extended operations into Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh○ Added focus areas such as women’s empowerment, digital literacy, and emergency relief, while deepening core programmes in healthcare and livelihood. Key Thematic Areas PSVS’s impact model is built around eight interlinked domains, each underpinned by rigorous needs-assessment and community co-design: 1. Livelihood Enhancement Empowerment through vocational training, micro-enterprise support, and market linkages—e.g., bamboo-weaving and handloom clusters in Chhindwara and Ramgarh) . 2. Healthcare Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and “Clinic on Wheels” projects delivering preventative, curative, and referral services to remote villages—most recently through the SBI Sanjeevani initiative in Bastar’s five districts . 3. Rehabilitation & Relief Rapid-response camps for natural disasters (e.g., Kolhapur flood relief in 2023) and de-addiction campaigns across South Asia, in partnership with ADIC, SDN/Movendi, and IOGT . 4. Dairy & Agriculture Sustainable dairy-based livelihoods since 2005 in Korba, complemented by agricultural training and land-use initiatives to diversify income streams. 5. Poverty Alleviation Holistic welfare schemes—ranging from food distribution during COVID-19 to nutritional support in crèches—designed to break cycles of deprivation. 6. Gender Equality & Women’s Empowerment Targeted programmes like “Project Sathi Pragati” (Vedanta-FACOR) that offer entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and social support to rural women . 7. Child Rights & Literacy Crèche network, anti-child-labor campaigns, and digital literacy workshops that equip youth with 21st-century skills. 8.
