Junior Development Programme
Prioritizing the development of young athletes nationwide, it actively runs two distinctive programmes. The National Inter-District Juniors Athletics Meet (NID-JAM) stands out as a unique initiative, selecting champions from over 260 districts in India and providing them with a national platform to nurture their talents. Approximately 3,500 budding athletes benefit from this programme, with each district sending 13 athletes, a coach, and a manager after a qualification tournament within their district. This initiative has successfully conducted 12 editions of NID-JAM, involving a maximum of 3,500 athletes from 260 districts.
Additionally, the organisation collaborates with the IAAF to promote grassroots athletics through the IAAF-AFI Kids Athletics programme, launched in 2013. This initiative encourages schools and their students across 19 states in India to engage in physical activity and embrace athletics, fostering a culture of fitness and sportsmanship from a young age.
