Bharat lok shiksha parishad has set up a unique system of education named “Ekal Vidyalaya” or the one teacher school. It aims to bring education to th Read moree villages and tribal belts of India through giving proper thought about the issues faced by poor people residing there. The ekal school is not like a normal school it takes help of play and games to impart education to the rural children. Its timing and schedules are prepared with inputs from the gram samiti so that children are available at free times. The teachers of these schools are present in the village so that the children do not need to travel far. The schools are run at a very low cost to make education affordable to the rural poor. Education
The Bharat Lok Shiksha Parishad manages Ekal Vidyalaya, which consists of one hamlet, one school, and one teacher. The following are Ekal Vidyalaya's key characteristics:
One school has 25 to 30 pupils (ages 4 to 10). School opens for two to three hours in the village chaupal, beneath a tree, in the temple. In addition to basic education through non-formal means, the curriculum covers health awareness, general cleanliness, sanitary conditions, hygiene, sustainable development, and empowerment for self-reliance. Playing, physical training, storytelling, songs, dancing, music, yoga, and games are all examples of non-formal educational methods. The Gramme Samiti is in charge of the schools. Our creative, one-teacher primary school approach has had a profound, long-lasting effect. Ekal is a revolution that is altering the educational paradigm.
