Human trafficking, a severe transgression against human rights, emerges as a significant criminal activity. This critical issue ensnares numerous individuals, encompassing men, women, and children, both within their homeland and beyond its borders. The peril of human trafficking is comparable to a global affliction, impacting millions worldwide. The distressing concern extends its grip over India, with a staggering 50 to 60 million people being victimized by this menace. The victims are coerced into the sex trade or forced labour, constituting a grave predicament. The majority, approximately 90%, experience trafficking within the nation, while the remaining 10% face trafficking from abroad. This sinister practice predominantly targets children and women. A disconcerting revelation by UNICEF states that a staggering 12.5 million individuals are ensnared in this perilous occupation.
