Spay/Neuter Program
The ABC (Animal Birth Control) program, also referred to as the sterilization program, is a humane method of limiting this number and guaranteeing a healthy population of street dogs. Friendicoes SECA is at the forefront of Indian Animal Welfare Organizations which fought to stop the poisoning and electrocution of stray dogs, during the 1980’s. We have always supported sterilization as the humane way of controlling the stray animal population and advocated mass vaccination as a measure for controlling rabies.
Currently Friendicoes performs over 8500 spay neuters each month or over 90,000 per annum which number will go up in this Financial year. This program is in line with the national plan for Rabies control and mitigation of man /animal conflict particularly in urban areas. It is of immense benefit to the public, the animal lovers and ensures the health of both animals and humans.
Friendicoes has ABC units at the below mentioned locations -
1) Delhi - East Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi & South Delhi
2) Uttar Pradesh - Noida, Greater Noida, Kanpur and Ayodhya
3) Uttarakhand - Haridwar
4) Punjab - Ludhiana
5) Haryana - Gurgaon and Sonipat
6) Jammu
7) Andaman & Nicobar IslandsIn addition to these we also conduct 5-7 days ABC camps in Uttarakhand & Himachal Pradesh, in Sonipat, Meerut, Karnal, Hapur and Modinagar from time to time with the support of local NGOs, donors and district commissioners. We also work with RWA’s, HoA’s & dog feeders who collect funds and have us do mass sterilisations in their localities.

Adoption Program
Many abandoned dogs who have been given up by their owners for a variety of reasons reside at the Friendicoes shelter. In addition, street-born dogs also find their way to us. As do cats and kittens. Adoption from the shelter is still extremely rare, despite the adoption team's best efforts to locate these babies homes.
The animals that have healed are taken to the Sanctuary and from there move to the Adoption unit as soon as some are adopted, so that people can come and interact with them and adopt them rather than buy pets.
Friendicoes has an adoption centre in Gurugram, with over 90 adoptable pets and the number will only increase further given the rate people abandon their pets.
In comparison to the number of animals that are abandoned or in need of homes, the adoption program is only able to rehome roughly 100 animals annually.

Mobile Veterinary Clinic for working Equines
StateBetween Delhi, U.P., Rajasthan and Haryana, we provide medical services to thousands of brick kilns where donkeys, ponies, mules and horses are used for transporting clay bricks to brick kilns. We give free medical treatment to the horses and donkeys working at tonga stands, brick kilns and construction sites in and around Delhi. We build shade shelters and water troughs to give them relief and prevent dehydration during their work in the scorching sun. Friendicoes has been running this program since 1984. Our operational area includes brick kilns and tonga stands at Delhi, Ballabgarh, Faridabad, Vrindavan, Mathura, Jewar, Tappal, Bharatpur Fatehpur Sikri and Agra and we take care of over 2500 equines along this route and this in turn protects the livelihood of over 3000 families dependent on them.
Recently, in 2023, we have also trained 5 local villagers as paravets to administer first aid to critically ill equines, before our team reaches them.

School Education Project
Making children aware of animal needs and practicing compassion is the goal of this program. Our school programmes strive to make kids more actively compassionate. We run specific programmes called “Mutthi Bhar Jeevan” where the children bring one fistful of rice and dal to school and put it in a sack. The class then donates the collected cereals to Friendicoes to feed rescued animals. The programme has been very successful in several schools.
