  • Pre-pregnancy care

    The program recognises the significance of the pre-pregnancy stage as a critical life phase that lays the foundation for healthy adulthood and parenthood. The program actively engages with women during the pre-pregnancy stage and continues to provide comprehensive care throughout the antenatal, neonatal, and child health care phases.
    The program focuses on implementing interventions that educate and condition families and youth about reproductive health and the importance of making informed decisions. By providing information and support, MAMTA empowers individuals to take proactive steps towards reproductive health and make choices that positively impact their well-being and that of their future children.
    Through its interventions, the program aims to enhance reproductive health awareness, promote family planning, and emphasize the importance of preconception care.

  • Antenatal Care

    Works towards improving the health of both the mother and the unborn baby by emphasizing strategies recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO). Encourages pregnant women to attend a minimum of four antenatal care visits. These visits provide essential health monitoring and support, enabling early detection and management of any potential risks or complications. Adequate iron and folic acid intake during pregnancy is crucial for the prevention of anaemia and neural tube defects. MAMTA promotes the consumption of at least 90 IFA tablets to ensure proper nutritional support for both the mother and the developing baby. The organisation emphasizes the importance of receiving two or more TT injections to protect against tetanus and ensure a safe delivery. It also organises session to educate the mother labour signs, identification of a skilled birth attendant, and ensuring access to a clean and safe delivery environment.

  • Post Partum and Natal Care

    The post-delivery period is a critical phase for the well-being and survival of the infant and the recovery of the mother. Maternal and child health can be greatly enhanced through proper care and nutrition during this stage. This program recognizes the significance of postnatal care and implements interventions that incorporate recommended and tested strategies for basic care and support.
    During this stage, the mother undergoes hormonal and physical changes, and proper care and support are essential for her to cope with these changes and effectively care for her newborn. The interventions address community barriers, including myths and social and personal practices, that may influence the well-being of both the mother and the infant.

  • Young People’s Reproductive Sexual Health & Rights (YRSHR)

    India's young population, aged 10 to 24 years, constitutes a significant demographic dividend. However, the burden of disease and health issues, including violations of sexual and reproductive rights, is increasing among this group. The organisation adopts a life cycle approach, with a focus on gender, sexuality, and rights as guiding principles for its interventions. It promotes comprehensive sexuality education, providing young people with accurate information to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. It supports the implementation of adolescent-friendly health services, ensuring that young people have access to safe, confidential, and non-judgmental healthcare services It strives to address harmful traditional practices, including early and forced child marriages, which pose significant risks to the sexual and reproductive health of young people.

  • Addressing Abusive Practices

    Women and girls in India, particularly those from marginalized communities, face pervasive discrimination, abuse, and violations of their basic human rights. Harmful practices such as early marriage, early pregnancy, female foeticide, and dowry persist, contributing to the overall challenges faced by women and girls in the country. The organisation works to promote and advance female-centric and community intervention models that empower individuals and communities.   • Communicable Diseases (TB, HIV / AIDS, Hepatitis B & C)
