To test Operation ASHA's model for identifying and treating underprivileged TB patients in India, Baxter India provided support to the organization from 2015 to 2017. In the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, the initiative was applied to a population of around 8.4 million people who resided in thousands of rural and urban shanties. These regions differ geographically from those where Operation ASHA had previously carried out the TB Program.

By finding 342 more patients, the program improved patient detection by a factor of more than three. Additionally, increasing drug consumption per patient by more than 75% in a year, enhanced adherence to therapy. This validated the long-held belief among experts that Operation ASHA's methodology is disease-neutral.
