Pahle India Foundation is a think tank that aims to bridge the gap between economic agents like firms and professionals on the one hand and policy mak Read moreers on the other to help facilitate developmental policy change. It aims to bring three principal stakeholders namely government, industry and academia together for ensuring India’s success in global economic and political scenario. The foundation's mission is to contribute innovative ideas for structuring the road map for India to become a high-income country by 2050. In fabricating the road map it deeply studies the past experience of the nation in different developmental aspects, implements the best available economic, social and political analysis and draws lessons from success stories of sustainable development from within India. It researches on workable recommendations which can be better absorbed and subsequently implemented by all stakeholders. It also disseminates policy action plans in Hindi, English and local languages for gathering popular support and influencing public opinion. The foundation's work programme is structured around themes which include financial sector, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), defence economics, India and global political economy, India’s engagement in selected multilateral economic forums such as China, USA and Africa.

  • District Led Development for India (DLDI)

    The DEED Unit of Pahle India Foundation is dedicated to shifting the paradigm of economic development assessment from a top-down to a bottom-up approach, focusing on estimating Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) for improved national planning. This entails devising new methodologies to accurately gauge district incomes, facilitating the formulation of vision documents and blueprints at the local level. Notably, the foundation has forged a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Assam on June 28, 2023, signaling its commitment to assisting in the precise estimation of GDDP and the development of district vision documents within the state.

  • District Domestic Product (DDP)

    The Pahle India Foundation is focused on empowering districts as key drivers of economic growth by improving the accuracy of Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) estimation, crucial for national planning. Through its District Economic Evaluation and Development (DEED) Unit, the foundation is pioneering a shift from top-down to bottom-up approaches in estimating district income. This effort includes assisting states, exemplified by a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of Assam on June 28, 2023, to refine GDDP estimates and develop district vision documents.
