Programs

  • Capacity Building Program

The Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM) has been designated as a Regional Resource and Training Centre (RRTC) by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJ&E) since 2000. Through its Capacity Building Program, SPYM provides training and technical support to over 100 NGOs across northern India, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir. The program focuses on skill development and vocational training for NGO functionaries and faith-based organizations working with marginalized populations susceptible to drug abuse, such as street children and the homeless. By orienting personnel on effectively dealing with drug-using populations, particularly children, SPYM aims to enhance the capacity of organizations in substance abuse prevention, counseling, de-addiction, and rehabilitation programming.

  • Substance Use Prevention & Treatment Program

The Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (SPYM) offers a comprehensive Substance Use Prevention & Treatment Program aimed at addressing drug dependency through education, rehabilitation, and community support. The initiative includes the Navchetna project, which trains teachers to educate students on life skills and drug awareness. SPYM operates specialized centers for children, women, and adults, providing detoxification, counseling, and vocational training. Additionally, outreach programs like ODIC and CPLI offer prevention and peer-led education in vulnerable communities.

  • Homeless Intervention Program

The Homeless Intervention Program by SPYM (Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses) is the largest initiative of its kind in Delhi, supporting over 6,000 homeless individuals daily. Through 65+ shelters managed in partnership with DUSIB, SPYM offers essentials like food, clothing, education, healthcare, vocational training, and recreational activities. Specialized efforts such as the Homeless Women’s Collective, winter rescue operations, and recovery shelters ensure dignity, rehabilitation, and holistic care. By mobilizing resources and building resilience, SPYM transforms vulnerable lives into empowered futures across Delhi’s most marginalized communities.
