The Institute is a member of both the World Foundrymen Organisation (WFO) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). IIF's wide-ranging activities include: * Publishing the monthly Indian Foundry Journal, featuring monographs on various aspects of the foundry industry. * Organizing the annual Indian Foundry Congress and the Indian Foundry Exhibition (IFEX), and publishing their proceedings. * Serving as a reference point for the Government of India regarding the foundry industry. * Participating in the Bureau of Indian Standards' preparation of standards for foundry materials, products, and test methods. * Promoting the export of foundry products and related services. * Providing technical services to member companies. * Coordinating research and development work on foundry-related subjects. * Organizing training and development programs for shop floor personnel. * Maintaining and updating a database of foundries and their suppliers. * Publishing the Foundry Directory every five years, listing relevant information for the foundry sector. * Conducting examinations leading to the GRAD IIF, recognized by the Government of India as a graduate-level degree in foundry technology. * Supporting foundry-related courses in educational institutions. * Recognizing meritorious activities by individuals and organizations in the field of foundry technology through an awards program. * Conducting technical meetings, seminars, and workshops through its regional branches and chapters.
