  • Empowering Women with Disabilities through Skill Development

    Sadbhabana, a prominent NGO in Keonjhar, Odisha, conducted a Skill Development Training Programme focused on embroidery and zari work for women leaders of Disabled Self-Help Groups (DSHGs). This initiative aimed to enhance the vocational skills of women with disabilities, enabling them to attain economic independence and social empowerment. By providing specialized training in traditional crafts, the program sought to create sustainable livelihood opportunities and foster self-reliance among participants. This effort reflects Sadbhabana's commitment to inclusive development and the upliftment of marginalized communities through targeted skill-building interventions.

  • Formation of Disable Self Help Groups

    The School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, commemorated Sadbhavana Diwas by organizing a special assembly. The event, led by the Sociology-Economics Forum, featured an address by Dr. Kiran Prasad, Dean of Administration, who emphasized the day's significance in promoting national integration, peace, and harmony among all Indians, irrespective of caste, region, religion, or language. Following the address, students, faculty, and staff collectively took the Sadbhavana Diwas pledge, committing to resolve differences through dialogue and constitutional means, thereby reaffirming the institution's dedication to unity and non-violence.

  • Community Based Rehabilitation Programme

    The Sadbhabana organization recently conducted a specialized Skill Development Training Programme focusing on embroidery and zari work for women leaders of Disabled Self-Help Groups (SHGs). This initiative aimed to empower women with disabilities by enhancing their vocational skills, thereby promoting self-reliance and economic independence. Through hands-on training sessions, participants acquired proficiency in traditional embroidery techniques and intricate zari work, enabling them to create marketable products. The program not only provided a platform for skill enhancement but also fostered confidence and leadership among the participants, contributing to their overall socio-economic development. This effort underscores Sadbhabana's commitment to inclusive growth and the upliftment of marginalized communities.

  • Empowering Abilities Through Institutional Rehabilitation

    Sadbhabana has been running “PRAYAS,” an institutional-based rehabilitation centre at Naranpur, Keonjhar since 2008, to support children with intellectual disabilities. Through holistic interventions including physiotherapy, speech and occupational therapy, music, yoga, martial arts, and life skills training, the program aims to foster independence. Annual sports and participation in district, state, and national competitions nurture the children's confidence. The organization also runs a government-approved special school for children with cerebral palsy and therapeutic centers in Keonjhar. Supported by SSEPD and the National Trust, Gharaunda provides shelter and skill-based training, promoting dignity and self-reliance among children with disabilities.

  • Capacity Building Training Programme on Child Rights

    The organization conducted capacity-building training sessions on child rights for members of SMC, PRI, and SHG at Naranpur and Raghunathpur under three GPs of Sadar and Jhumpura Block. The programme aimed to sensitize local child protection committees at both GP and block levels about the rights and protection of children, focusing on key legislations such as the Right to Education (RTE) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. The training aimed to empower participants with the knowledge to effectively advocate for child rights in their communities.
