Having received training from the Coir Board's SFURTI programme, SKF has implemented cluster development work in the Sakhigopal cluster. This involves sensitizing stakeholders, organizing skill development training, and more. Over the past eight years, SKF has worked in the coir sector, running an income augmentation programme for adolescent girls and women. They have formed Self Help Groups and engaged in coir-related activities. Additionally, SKF has trained girls and women in coir handicraft making, enabling them to sell their products at local markets and participate in various events. The organisation is now undertaking the SFURTI program in collaboration with the Coir Board and the Ministry of MSME, Government of India.

    In the realm of environmental awareness and protection, the organisation has been actively addressing the critical issue of ecosystem and biodiversity degradation. In collaboration with Government and non-government entities, SKF annually conducts awareness camps and mobilizes volunteers and management members to undertake plantation activities. Through these efforts, over 5,000 plants, spanning diverse species such as medicinal, fodder, fruit-bearing, and timber varieties, have been successfully planted in project areas with the valuable involvement of the local community.

These SHGs receive training on financial management and Government programmes, as well as important topics like human rights and leadership. SKF also addresses women's issues in rural areas, offering counselling for domestic violence, dowry-related problems, and more. For severe cases, group-level income-generating activities are planned. Additionally, SKF provides vocational training to women in Puri District, enabling 50 women to start their small businesses in areas like Badi, Papad, Pickles, and Agarbatti production, fostering economic independence.
