Samajik Seva Sadan, with support from Andheri-Hilfe, Germany, implemented an Integrated Village Sustainable Development project from 2015 to 2017 in Subdega Block, Odisha. It focused on promoting sustainable agriculture, capacity building, water resource conservation, and skill training for Adivasi and Dalit communities. Through extensive training, the organization equipped farmers with eco-friendly practices facilitated water conservation efforts, and provided skill training to enhance livelihoods. Additionally, it raised awareness about government schemes and actively participated in their implementation, leading to tangible improvements such as road construction, farm pond creation, and infrastructure development in target villages.

After recognizing the migration of Adivasi and Dalit youth due to skill shortages, Samajik Seva Sadan responded to community requests by establishing the Gangpur Industrial Training Centre (GITC) in Subdega, Sundargarh in 2010. This initiative aimed to provide local youth with the necessary skills to secure employment in nearby industries, reducing the need for migration. Despite the presence of other Industrial Training Centres in Sundargarh District, GITC addressed the financial barriers faced by disadvantaged youth by offering affordable training options, thus creating opportunities for skill development and employment closer to home.
