M.S.Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation is a registered non profit voluntary organization founded in the year 1992by Dr.C.Ramasubrmanian, Consul Read moretant Psychiatrist with a mission, To promote mental health through holistic mental health care that is affordable and accessible to all. Since the inception, the mental health professionals of the Trust is taking care of the mental health needs of the people and by virtue of its range of services, the Trust has emerged as one of the largest mental health service providers in Tamilnadu. In recognition of its services, the Trust received the Nation’s Best Institution Award for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in the year 2007. The Trust is also recognized as a Research Centre by Department of Science and Technology Govt. of India and also empanelled with the National CSR Hub of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Presently, the Trust is benefitting around 3500 persons with mental disabilities, Persons Dependent on Alcohol and their family members through its residential and community based rehabilitation programmes.
Action
The Trust operates six residential rehabilitation centers, supporting 550 homeless individuals with mental illness by providing essential services like food, accommodation, medication, treatment, and vocational training, all free of charge.

Awareness Program
Stategenerates awareness in society on mental health issues and encourages people to seek medical help for a better life. Provides dedicated medical counselling to people in coordination with NIMHANS.

Mental health Helpline
StateSpeak2Us education institute provides free and empathetic support to people in need of counselling. Trained volunteers offer a safe space to listen and discuss their mental health and promote emotional well-being.
Milestones & Track Record
Key milestones include establishing Aakash special school (1995), Chellamuthu Gardens rehabilitation campus (1994), receiving the State's Best Non-Governmental Organisation award (1997), and founding Ahana Hospitals, South India's first NABH accredited Psychiatric Hospital (2008).
