Akshara High School, located in the western suburbs of Mumbai, has been receiving support from Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation since June 2012. Established in 2007 under the ICSE Board, the school aims to provide a friendly educational environment for children within their neighborhood. With a commitment to social inclusion and addressing inequalities based on gender, caste, and economic status, the school keeps its fee structure minimal to ensure accessibility to those from middle and lower economic backgrounds. The foundation's support enables over 200 children to pursue education at Akshara High School.

Being Human has collaborated with Maaya Foundation to offer free treatment to children suffering from severe facial deformities, commonly known as Craniofacial Deformities. These congenital deformities vary in type and severity, causing difficulties in breathing, eating, and speech for affected children, along with enduring social stigma. The program's goal is to extend assistance to children nationwide who are living with these challenges. As of April 2017, the initiative has successfully provided treatment to 130 children.
