JGPSS conducts programs to raise environmental awareness in villages, including activities like tree planting, desilting, and biodiversity conservation. The Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board designated JGPSS to establish People’s Biodiversity Conservation Committees in Gram Panchayats. They established committees in 30 Gram Panchayats in Hingoli taluka and submitted their report. In 2020, they completed People’s Biodiversity Registers in 12 Gram Panchayats as ordered by the Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board. The Zilha Parishad administration acknowledged their work, expanding it to 70 more villages. JGPSS collaborates with People’s Biodiversity Committees for various programs in Gram Panchayat areas, focusing on tree conservation, wildlife preservation, biodiversity education, skills development, organic farming, and waste utilization.

Kitchen garden

JGPSS reintroduced the kitchen garden concept to improve food quality for consumers. They collaborated with AFARM, Pune, and initially focused on rural areas. Since 2015-16, the organisation has annually distributed kitchen garden seed kits to about one hundred families, often involving women's self-help groups, resulting in high female participation. This initiative eliminates the need to repeatedly purchase seeds. The programs also educated participants about the advantages of organic produce, including vegetables, fruits, grains, and medicinal plants. The response has been enthusiastic. The program is currently active in a village within Hingoli taluka.

Organic farming
Through this initiative, the orgnisation aims to raise awareness about the significance of organic farming. The excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has detrimental effects on both consumer health and soil quality, leading to reduced fertility and an alarming surge in illnesses. Until a few decades ago, ailments like diabetes were uncommon in most villages; however, there has been a significant rise in conditions like diabetes, blood pressure issues, and heart attacks. This overall impact has been widely acknowledged as devastating.
Transitioning to chemical-free food has the potential to counter this worrisome trend. The escalating farmer suicides and the unprofitability of agriculture have dissuaded many from pursuing farming as a livelihood. Additionally, as families grow, land divisions among siblings lead to reduced individual holdings.

In collaboration with the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society, Mumbai, JGPSS has been able to educate numerous young individuals in vermicompost production during 2016-17, enabling them to partner with farmers and catalyze organic farming practices. The organisation has effectively imparted agricultural skills and expertise in organic manure production to the youth.
This involvement extends to Entrepreneurship Development in Agri-Business (EDAB), specifically within the Garments Department. JGPSS is actively providing training in hand-embroidery and traditional embroidery skills, focusing not only on producing high-quality items but also equipping them with marketing competencies. This comprehensive approach has led to increased openness among young individuals toward novel concepts.
