MAHAN (Meditation, AIDS, Health, Addiction, Nutrition) Trust is a non-profit, non-government organization founded in 1997 by Dr. Ashish Satav and Dr. Read moreKavita Satav to provide preventive and curative medical facilities to the tribal population of Melghat, a remote and underdeveloped region in Maharashtra, India.

MAHAN Trust operates a specialized hospital, eye care hospital, and hospice facility, while also implementing various healthcare initiatives such as home-based child care, malnutrition eradication, mortality control programs, blindness control, de-addiction programs, and nutrition farms.

Impact

MAHAN Trust has provided free specialist medical services to over 120,000 patients, saved more than 3,000 critically ill tribal patients, reduced malnutrition and child mortality by over 63% in adopted villages, and benefited more than 500,000 people through various projects.

MAHAN Trust has developed over 6,000 nutrition farms and gardens in 16 tribal villages, producing over 100,000 kg of green vegetables and pulses, and has successfully made three villages free from social drinking of alcohol.
