Sampoorna Bamboo Kendra

The organization works with the tribal youth in Bamboo handicraft and housing in the Melghat region of Amravati District. The Tehsil lacks in employme Read morent opportunity and thus, the organization trained them and helped them to earn up to Rs. 8000 by making bamboo items at the comfort of their houses. It claims to have trained more than 9000 people. It has also set up self-help groups of tribal women and artisan and claims to promote 210 self-help groups in 66 villages of Melghat (39 villages in Daharni and 27 villages in Chikhaldara Blocks). Out of these, 115 are women group and 58 are male groups, consisting of 2066 members (1261 female and 805 male). It further claims that approximately 173 groups are promoted under NABARD. Some of the products that make are bamboo wall hangings, paperweight, lamps, table organizers, baskets, etc.
