Among the things that started at SVM were the adoption of Israeli technology for nurseries, biofertilizers, mushroom farming, and the production of aromatic and medicinal plants. The youth in the area received a 4-6 month self-employment generation training program in 1998, thanks to funding from the Maharashtra government. The institute has also contributed to sustainable agriculture and watershed improvement. The "Progressive Farmer Committee" is the name of the newly formed committee. This group represents and is made up of farmers. About 150 people make up this committee.
