It has the National Livelihood Resources Institute (NLRI), a well-equipped educational and training facility in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, focused on field research and academia. Additionally, it oversees the School of Rural Management (SRM), an AICTE-approved institution that has been providing two-year postgraduate diplomas in rural planning and management. GVT is in charge of one Krishi Vigyan Kendra in eastern India, located in the district of Godda in Jharkhand. According to the ICAR, this Kendra is among the top organisations in frontline demonstration of best practices for programs centred around agriculture, livestock, and forestry. GVT was established as a KRIBHCO division to oversee the Western India Projects (WIRFP) and Eastern India Rainfed Projects (EIRFP) in seven states by establishing many clusters in tribal areas to uplift the tribal people. GVT expanded both geographically and in terms of its range of activities. In keeping with its goal and vision, it launched several new projects and activities, such as training rural children in a variety of trades, providing business possibilities, agribusiness, market connections to rural handcraft craftsmen, etc.
