Programs

  • Made in Maidaan

Using the language of sports, children are taught life skills like gender roles, leadership, communication, hygiene, bullying, empathy, confidence, sharing and teamwork.

The programme encourages freedom from shyness and coming out as informed citizens, leading to change and positive societal impact.

  • Ultimate Frisbee

Another play-based intervention of Project Khel is Ultimate Frisbee. It is a gender-inclusive sport which leads to empathy, self-regulation and the usage of dialogue for conflict resolution.

The sport encourages team spirit, planning and effective communication within one’s team and opponents alike, enabling good decision making which comes in useful in actual life situations.

  • ab Bas

ab Bas is the organisation's intervention to reduce cases of child sexual abuse. It focuses on informing children about inappropriate behaviour, at the same time also informing teachers and parents to keep an eye on abnormal behaviour and be sensitive towards a child’s signals of distress.

  • Teen Talks

This project tries to help children gracefully transform into adolescents. It includes topics which are otherwise not discussed by parents like sexuality, relationships, love etc. The discussions are held in a liberal environment where there are no restrictions on asking questions. Teenagers are encouraged to come up with counter opinions and criticisms so that they develop and have the methods of handling the period of adolescence.

  • Red Spot

Focuses on dispelling the old beliefs and traditions around menstruation. It tries to reach out to women and girls using the medium of games, puppetry, art and humour. It also connects to women from the older generation and tries to educate them about periods and attempts to re-orient their beliefs regarding menstruation. It also includes young boys in its activities informing them of menstruation as a natural occurrence.
