    It works towards bridging the gap between health service providers & service users. It works on immunization, adolescent health, addressing reproductive and sexual health to prevent sexually transmitted diseases like HIV, early and unwanted pregnancy and reproductive tract infections.

    Further ensuring dispensation of mother and child protection (MCP) Cards, providing outpatient care, nutrition and health counselling, improving health and nutrition status during the first 1000 days of the child’s life, pregnancy, antenatal care, breastfeeding, nutrition, vaccination and childhood illnesses.

    It works towards the protection of children from abuse, exploitation, discrimination, trafficking and neglect in the family, school or at the community level.

    It generates awareness, educates the communities and offers protection services to vulnerable children. Programmes are rolled out near the borders of India with Bangladesh and Nepal, where child trafficking is a serious issue.

    It also works in coordination with the government & police to implement childline services where a child in distress or his/her well-wisher can call and get help. Along with this, the communities & institutions are educated to prevent violence, corporal punishment, early marriage, child trafficking and child labour.

    Based on its study, a child who is healthy and has been receiving proper nutrition and care can be prevented from getting into child labour, exploitation and trafficking if sent to school. It traces out-of-school children with the help of school authorities, teachers, school committees, families, children’s groups, local elected representatives, rural panchayat institutions and urban local bodies.

    It also conducts social auditing in order to improve school processes and systems and works toward providing access to education to all children, especially girls, without any discrimination. Along with physical growth & development, it also focuses on the psycho-social development of the children.

    The core focus & foundation of CINI's work has been nutrition. It aims at educating women (pregnant and lactating mothers) and attempts to ensure appropriate nutrition through different stages of growth & development.

    It works towards eliminating malnutrition among children, adolescents & pregnant women. It also focuses on hygiene and sanitation so that the nutrition obtained does not go to waste.

    Childcare practices that include a balanced diet, gender equality in nutrition consumption at the family level and breastfeeding are being promoted and the community is guided to use low-cost locally available foods. Its low-cost model has been adopted by the state governments to rehabilitate severely malnourished children.
