Indian Grameen Services (IGS) expands its focus beyond agriculture to promote non-farm enterprise and entrepreneurship. This shift is in response to community needs and emerging opportunities. IGS has a history of diverse projects, from waste management to supporting craftspersons, community-based microfinance, and rural service enterprises. It aims to create a substantial impact by promoting "deci-enterprises" that hire at least 10 workers, focusing on green, digitally enabled, and e-commerce-savvy ventures. IGS also emphasizes non-farm and off-farm entrepreneurship and supports marginalized communities through producers' organizations. It seeks collaboration with various stakeholders to develop digital learning solutions, pilot deci-enterprises in rural areas, provide life skills and mentorship for entrepreneurs, and offer financial products to support rural youth, women, and tribal entrepreneurs.
