    To support the Indian ethos embodied in "Vasudhaiva Kutum Bakum," artist-activists from all over the world got together to form the Jana Sanskriti International Research and Resource Institute (JSIRRI).

    Since 2004, Jana Sanskriti has also been organising a biannual Forum Theatre event known as Muktadhara. The Festival's organisation is significant since it serves as a global gathering place for Forum Theatre teams from around the globe and Jana Sanskriti's trained actors from all over India. Each member of these teams is involved in local affairs, and the majority of them also serve as leaders of groups that fight for the rights of the underprivileged. Renowned theatre figures from all over the world, including India, have attended these wildly popular events.

Impact

Currently, it has thirty satellite theatre teams scattered over West Bengal (mostly in the districts of South 24 Parganas and Purulia), two each in Tripura, Jharkhand, and Orissa, as well as one each in New Delhi. Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka have also created teams. Every year, these teams' performances draw in at least 2,000,000 spectators.

Jana Sanskriti's goal is to create a space for the oppressed to discover their potential, overcome imposed inferiority, and become articulate and confident to confront challenges in their development.
