Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, the movement's founder, established the groundwork for the first of its kind in Karnataka. Under his patronage, the "Al-Ameen Movement" focused on the banking, health, and education sectors for the benefit of marginalised groups, particularly Muslims. He received support from a group of committed and hardworking individuals whose genuine efforts have led to the establishment of about 20 Al-Ameen Educational Society branches and about 150 institutions serving the cause of education in the State of Karnataka and India.
