This 24/7 open shelter operates year-round to provide refuge for boys in dire need and without proper care. Its primary goal is to safeguard these children, integrate them into society by upholding their fundamental rights, and offer specialized support through education, nourishment, recreation, and shelter. In essence, it seeks to enhance their lives and restore their childhood through comprehensive care and attention.

Trinita's mission is to transition children from workplaces to schools, providing them with comprehensive basic and formal education. Beyond that, Trinita actively advocates for the complete prohibition of all forms of child labour up to the age of 16. It takes proactive measures to address the issues of hazardous child labour within the local area. The ongoing efforts focus on integrating these children into government and municipal schools, ensuring they receive free and compulsory education. Trinita intervenes to rescue children from hotels, mills, factories, and hazardous environments, subsequently enrolling them in their specialized school. Through such initiatives, it successfully restores their lost childhood and safeguards their rights.

Trinita firmly believes that education of high quality and equal access is the catalyst for transformative change, enabling individuals to reach their fullest potential. With this principle at its core, Trinita has launched a project aimed at empowering marginalized boys and girls with fundamental computer skills, enabling them to contribute proudly to the National Digital Literacy Mission. Presently, over fifty students, most of whom come from below the poverty line, have earned certificates of merit through this initiative.

Commencing in December 2013 in Chinsurah, Hooghly, the Open Shelter for girls prioritizes the secure accommodation of destitute girls, shielding them from their challenging circumstances. The core mission is to offer comprehensive guidance, including protection, education, nutritious meals, and shelter. As adolescent girls are susceptible to abuse, the organisation is committed to providing a refuge and empowering them with education, healthcare, sustenance, and vocational training, enabling them to stride toward a purposeful future.

This centre offers essential supplementary educational assistance exclusively to formal high school students. Trinita is dedicated to providing coaching primarily to child labourers who had discontinued their education due to family circumstances and were compelled to work. Trinita's team identified children across various work settings, administered a bridge course, and subsequently integrated them into mainstream schools. Many of these students are now well-prepared for a range of senior secondary board examinations.

Trinita's initiative in this field was initiated in 2004 to address the plight of children who were deprived of their childhood at a very young age. These children, aged between 8 and 10 years, were compelled to engage in various leather and rubber works within small and medium factories located in and around Topsia, Tiljala, Tangra, and Park Circus slum areas due to extreme poverty within their families. Their tasks included pasting shoes, wallets, and sofas using adhesive solutions, which posed severe health risks and led to respiratory issues among these children. Astonishingly, their parents and guardians remained unaware of their hazardous working conditions. Educators faced a significant challenge in identifying and reaching out to these children, advocating for their rights with employers, and ultimately bringing them to Trinita's open school. Here, they received foundational education, nutritious meals, and opportunities for recreation.

This project focuses on teaching costume jewellery making to underprivileged girls and boys, both those attending school and those who have dropped out. The primary aim of this training is to equip them with the skills to create fashionable and marketable items such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets, bangles, hairbands, and hair clips. The goal is to empower them to become self-employed by engaging in this trade.
The training covers lessons on product costing and marketing strategies. A total of 292 girls have received training from our centre located in Kolkata's slum areas, as well as from some government school students. Despite the challenges posed by the lockdown, the skill development training in Costume Jewellery making continued. The participants created products at home and generated income by selling them to their neighbours and friends.
