The school began with just 10 deaf and mute children and initially operated from a temporary structure within the Helen Keller Viklang Sanstha campus. Currently, the purpose-built school boasts 25 classrooms, an air-conditioned soundproof audiology room, an Ear Mould lab, and various other facilities, including the principal's office, an auditorium, and a clean playground. BBKVS supports the deaf and mute community through several centres, such as a hearing aid support centre, a school and hostel for the blind, and the Sur Niliyam School and Hostel. The institution prioritises both mental and physical development, offering recreational activities, sports, speech therapy, free medical services, and vocational training in areas like computers, typewriting, and tailoring.

Sur Nilayam
In 1992-93, the institution launched a new project for visually impaired children. The school and hostel were inaugurated on October 2, 1992, by the institution's chairman, Shri Ram Prasad Ladha, during a simple ceremony on Gandhi Jayanti. In its inaugural year, 13 children aged 4 to 14 were admitted. Currently, 20 boys and girls are enrolled, receiving education and support through this initiative.

Extension programme of Deaf & Dumb School Building
To accommodate the growing number of students at the Deaf & Dumb School, additional classrooms are being constructed on the first floor. Three rooms were completed in March 1997 as part of the Rural Development Authority Project, while the City Council of Bhilwara has also finished constructing three rooms.
