Even if landholdings are getting smaller with every generation, the principal occupation is still agriculture. Small-scale livestock farming supports subsistence agriculture, while daily wage labor and seasonal migration account for a significant amount of household cash earnings. Women's Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and its apex organizations, SHG federations, have shown to be a successful means of promoting financial inclusion and facilitating credit availability for the expansion of both farm and non-farm businesses. The goal of CmF is to enable SHGs and federations to attain self-management and financial sustainability. Following that, interventions aimed at enhancing productivity and market connections in the livestock and agricultural sectors as well as developing skills in non-farm trades for self-employment and job placements assist small and marginal households in starting their journey from subsistence to affluence.

Policymakers and development professionals in the nation are still faced with a significant challenge due to the low academic achievement of kids attending government and rural schools. Since children must assist their parents in obtaining their daily bread, early school dropouts are common in tribal regions, where the issue is exacerbated. Lack of high-quality in-service capacity building and support processes limits teachers' abilities, which also has an impact on their motivation. To help kids love learning and build solid core skills, CmF is working hard to establish learner-friendly physical environments and contextualized pedagogical processes in government schools and Anganwadis.
