Centre for Special Education caters 100+ students belonging to the age group 5 to 25 yrs. including those students enrolled in the Center for Vocational Training. The center works with students with Cerebral Palsy (CP), IntellectualDisability (ID), Down’s Syndrome (DS) , Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) & other Multiple Disabilities. The primary goal of the CSE program is to provide each individual with an environment which facilitates & maximizes his/her learning abilities both academically and functionally. Thus providing them with an opportunity to reach their full potential for becoming active members within the community. Children are taught on a 1:10 teacher/student ratio, ensuring each child receives the attention they require.

Centre For Prevocational And Vocational Unit

The prevocational unit and the vocational units provide a bridge for the easy transition of persons with special needs from school to work, keeping in mind the aptitude and physical and mental ability of each individual. The center comprises of a)Prevocational unitwhere students learn functional language and mathematical skills needed for following any vocation in the open market. b)Kitchen Unitwhere a group of students learn through hands on work as per his/ her ability. Training is given in all kitchen related activities e.g. peeling, rolling, frying, identifying lentils, cutting vegetables, preparing homemade drinks, snacks etc. c)Stitching UnitEach trainee is individually supervised to first learn the basic stitching skills and knowledge of different types of machines like a simple machine, a fashion maker machine , a computerized machine, inter locking machine etc. leading on to embroidery patch work, quilting, pattern making etc. d)Art & Craft Unit: consists of painting with different mediums and paper craft. This medium helps students to pour out their inner most thoughts, resulting in the production of unusual and beautiful art pieces – Paper craft lends itself to the production of every day useful material through unique ways. Block printed wrapping paper, cards, paper stationary, decorative paper weights, colorful paper hangings, office table accessories are all expressions of the student’s imagination. e)Skill based training unit

They are placed in different departments under the supervision of the staff, for example at the reception, library, classrooms, therapy departments etc.
