These institutes are dedicated to ongoing research and the development of cutting-edge conservation techniques within India. Its expertise extends to providing exceptional conservation services for art collectors. Furthermore, INTACH promotes heritage conservation awareness through seminars and workshops, nurturing a shared concern for preserving cultural legacy. The organisation's reach spans several locations, including Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Kolkata, Lucknow, and New Delhi, while its activities encompass a Wall Painting Directory, Lecture Series, Case Studies, and the Lime Research & Training Centre.

  • Community, Craft & Heritage Programme

INTACH actively engages in developing community-based enterprises to benefit communities in heritage areas where it conducts conservation projects. This includes enhancing craft skills, instilling pride in heritage, and improving living conditions. It also revives dying skills and assists artisans in finding markets for their products. Design workshops, facility centres, and social programs, especially for disadvantaged women, are part of their efforts. INTACH's showroom promotes craft development and aligns with corporate social responsibility initiatives.

INTACH acknowledges the immense value of India's cultural heritage, which is often underappreciated, at risk, or even lost due to urbanization. As part of its mission, it has undertaken a comprehensive listing programme to identify and document cultural heritage across the nation. To date, INTACH has successfully listed approximately 54,000 heritage resources in 150 cities and towns. Notably, listings in cities like Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata have been published by INTACH and officially recognized by local authorities, preserving this invaluable heritage.

  • Heritage Tourism Programme

In December 2005, INTACH established the Heritage Tourism Division, expanding its role beyond conservation to create a sustainable framework for making conserved sites accessible and comprehensible to the public. Recognizing the growing importance of heritage in Indian tourism, this division is dedicated to ensuring that heritage remains a cornerstone of the tourism industry, poised for even greater prominence in the future.
