S T Foundation works in the backward areas of Rajasthan where quarry based labour intensive activities take place. It provides support to families of Read morelabour working in the quarries on the issues related to education, training and importance of safety at work. Further, with an aim to uplift the labour community, the organisation conducts awareness programmes on issues related to health, sanitation and self development. It also works to achieve poverty alleviation, micro-credit enterprise development and capacity building of the marginalised communities through its interventions in education, health and vocational training whereby they have access to ways and means to livelihood. In the area of education, the organisation works on early childhood development, promotion of child-centered approaches, training teachers programmes and helping communities to develop close linkages with schools. Also, its vocational training programme undertakes two main projects at Dharangadhra and Ambaji in Gujarat for providing training to 10th grade children belonging to marginalised communities with low annual income, in the field of marble and other stones for manufacturing value added products. Under the watershed development programme, initiatives such as water conservation techniques, plugging of drainage line by construction of check dams, gabions and masonry structures, constructing farm bunds and digging contour trenches on steeper land are introduced and promoted by the organisation.
