Gnyandeep
StateStates
Maharashtra
Our preschool teachers' training programme, Gnyandeep, aims to build environments that support ALL children's development. Our choice to concentrate on training teachers who work at the lowest levels, or balwadis, was influenced by the reality that special needs children are frequently identified first in their preschools and balwadis. Beginning in 2015, we have provided comprehensive training on child development and behaviour, multiple intelligences, and common disabilities to the balwadi instructors and helpers from 26 anganwadis spread throughout all 12 talukas in Goa. The news that the training was highly applicable and useful to the teachers and assistants was encouraging. To make their lesson plans more engaging for young students and multimodal, teachers should incorporate a variety of ideas into their repertory.

Research on Child Literacy in Goa
StateStates
Maharashtra
The majority of parents think that giving their kids an education in English will be the key to a successful future. About 40% of kids in Goa finish their elementary schooling in Konkani or Marathi. But nearly all switch to English as their primary language of teaching in middle school. Can these kids write and read in English with meaning? To respond to this inquiry, reading and writing assessments were given to 111 fifth-graders enrolled in 15 government and government-aided schools. To learn more about the difficulties they encounter, interviews with the school heads and the English teachers of grades 4 and 5 were also conducted.
