Jeevantirth is mainly working in the fields of Education, Environment, Rural Development and Human Rights related issues. Along with direct implementa Read moretion of the innovative cost effective projects, it has specialised in providing support through capacity building to the grass-root organisations. The organisation's urban initiatives include establishment of 'Bal Sanskar Kendra' which are community centres for imparting education to children belonging to vulnerable communities. The second initiative includes the 'Girl Child Education Programme' which includes establishment of vocational centres for skill development along with establishment of self help groups which provide support and help to discuss various women related issues. The third initiative is the 'Value Education Programme' which aims to provide value based learning through teaching methods which consist of activities like games, poetry, role-plays, arts and crafts, dramas and stories. Additionally, the organisation has established a 'Nature Education Programme' in collaboration with Serenity Library and Botanical Garden. It is a stretch of 10 acres of land having about 1000 varieties of trees and plants that houses various species of insects, amphibians and reptiles. It also hosts more than 100 species of terrestrial and wetland birds and over 50 species of butterflies. Apart from this, the organisation also provides support to elderly through 'Niraant Vrudhdh Mandal' which is a group of about 150 elderly men at RamaPirNo Tekro and Ganesh Nagar who get together for 2 hours every Saturday and create a dynamic environment enriched by bhajans, stories, songs and satsang. Several aspects of the elderly are addressed during these meetings and the organisation also invites experts to discuss relevant issues like food, lifestyle, health, right behavior and righteous living. Further, the organisation has initiated various Tribal community based initiatives which include Aadi Aushadhi Group which produces healthy food products, Biodiversity project which is a technical support group to create Biodiversity Committee, Matru-Pitru Devo Bavah which is a platform that provides support to elderly, Harit Sena which is an awareness program which highlights the importance of forest conservation and girl child education project.

  • Girl Child Education
