  • Dream School

APSA’s Dream School, is a transformative education program catering to children from urban slums, including former child laborers, street children, and school dropouts aged 3 to 18 years. Following the NIOS and State Board curricula, the school enriches learning through creative, child-friendly methodologies. It also provides bridge courses, daycare, and crisis intervention education. Over 10,000 children have benefitted, with corporate support enhancing facilities like libraries, music rooms, and extracurricular activities. APSA’s Dream School fosters holistic growth, empowering children to integrate into mainstream education and society.

  • Navajeevana Nilaya After-Care Shelter

Navajeevana Nilaya is a transformative after-care hostel designed to support young women over the age of 18 from disadvantaged backgrounds. It serves as a crucial bridge to independence for women who have completed skill training at APSA's Kaushalya Skill Training Centre and secured their first jobs. The hostel promotes personal growth, financial planning, and social skills, while offering counselling and life skills training.

Residents actively participate in managing the hostel, fostering a sense of cooperation and responsibility. Over the years, Navajeevana Nilaya has empowered more than 750 young women, equipping them with the tools needed to secure stable jobs, live independently, and build brighter futures.

  • Empowering Women through Self-Help Groups

For over two decades, APSA has empowered marginalized women in Bengaluru and Hyderabad slums through Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Launched in 1999, these SHGs provide accessible savings mechanisms and credit facilities, enabling women to escape exploitative moneylenders and gain financial independence. Beyond economic benefits, SHGs foster collective action against domestic violence, child marriage, and lack of civic amenities. With over 50,000 women impacted, APSA’s initiative has improved lives by promoting health, education, and leadership, while creating child marriage and labor-free communities. These SHGs exemplify resilience, economic progress, and social transformation among urban poor women.
