    KGVK, active in rural Jharkhand, focuses on Natural Resource Management in collaboration with Government, NGOs, and the community. Using the 5 Js framework (Jal, Janwar, Jameen, Jangal, and Jan), it addresses resource depletion with traditional knowledge and technology. Notably, KGVK's watershed projects cover vast areas: Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) in Patratu (4488.55 hectares), Ormanjhi (6001), Namkum (3933.29), and Govindpur (5458.44); Integrated Wasteland Development Programme (IWDP) in Gamharia and Saraikela (4321.17) and Rajnagar (5325.03). It also works on the Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP) in Patratu (2000) and the India Canada Environment Facility (ICEF) in Patratu (7455), totalling 38982.5 hectares. KGVK enhances irrigation potential through projects funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), and HDFC Bank Ltd.

    KGVK focuses on rural family well-being through accessible healthcare for mothers, children, and adolescent girls, while also preventing diseases and improving sanitation. It enhances VHSNCs and educates adolescent girls. Collaborating with partners, projects like the 'Low birth weight' and 'RISHTA' have succeeded. Achievements include 81% institutional deliveries and 86% immunization coverage.

    KGVK runs 24x7 Rural Hospitals in Rukka and Narayan Soso villages, offering a range of services, and participating in the Ayushman Bharat scheme for BPL patients. Health camps and village health services ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery to rural families in Jharkhand.

    KGVK is committed to improving grassroots education by employing innovative and child-centric learning approaches in rural schools. It enhances Government schools with Smart classes, modern teaching techniques, and infrastructure upgrades, including seating arrangements, whitewashing, and sanitation facilities. KGVK also runs Adult Literacy and 'Wash' School Health programmes.

    Its current focus is on strengthening existing Government schools by establishing school libraries and implementing TLM Facilitation, benefiting students' learning. KGVK introduces Smart Boards, 'Wash' School Health Programmes, and Adult Literacy initiatives, emphasizing basic literacy and numeracy. It uses the TiE (Theatre in Education) programme to promote joyful learning and encourage children's active participation in education.

    KGVK is focused on creating employment opportunities through knowledge enrichment at TVM Gurukul, a Regional Knowledge Resource Centre for Green-preneurship Development. It provides skill-based training to the community through various vocational courses affiliated with NSDC and NIOS. The Gurukul empowers village champions and promotes entrepreneurship among youth and women, offering training programmes on topics like agriculture, farming, high-value crop cultivation, and more. TVM Gurukul is well-equipped with modern training facilities, and its serene environment includes a 54-acre demonstration farm, a dairy farm, and other agricultural resources. It also welcomes other organisations for training programmes and offers lodging and cafeteria services on-site.

  • Livelihoods Programme

    KGVK is dedicated to promoting sustainable livelihoods through a variety of initiatives. It encourages innovative crop management practices and market linkages, as well as livestock rearing, and provides skill training. On-farm interventions focus on advanced and innovative farming practices, urging farmers to adopt second crops and explore off-farm income opportunities, including strawberry and mushroom cultivation, duck rearing, poultry, and piggery. KGVK also supports micro-enterprises in on-farm, off-farm, and non-farm sectors. It has successfully implemented livelihood-supported projects, including the Sustainable livelihood through TVM project funded by Axis Bank Foundation (ABF), 'Community Development in Ranchi' funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), 'Holistic Rural Development Program' funded by HDFC Bank Ltd., and the STED project funded by NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
