The Divyaang Myithri Sports Academy (DMSA) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting sports accessibility and improving the health and mobil Read moreity of persons with disabilities. It provides specific training, reachable sporting facilities, and patronage to ensure that everyone, regardless of their disability, has access to sports. In addition, DMSA acts as an agent of change to promote inclusion and break down barriers for persons with disabilities.
Action
Karnataka won it’s first series in it’s debut wheelchair cricket series. Karnataka team from DMSA became the champions of “South Zone Wheelchair Cricket”. Finalist in the 1st National Wheelchair Cricket Championship and co-hosted the event. 2020 Constructed the First-Ever dedicated practice nets for differently-abled cricketers, Bengaluru. Winners of the inaugural edition of Divyang Premier League. Karnataka team from DMSA became the champions of “South Zone Wheelchair Cricket”. Invention of wheelchair volleyball which led to hosting the first-ever tournament in India. DMSA supported over 20 athletes with "Neo-Motion" electric wheelchairs, enabling them to pursue self-employment and mobility aid worth 25 Lakhs. Hosted the 2nd National “Wheelchair Handball” Championship in Mumbai with the affiliation of Handball Association of India.

Wheelchair Cricket Tournament
It hosted the first ever cricket tournament attended by specially abled players. The tournament featured teams from Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and was won by Karnataka in a rousing final game.

Gym For All
This initiative by DMSA attempts to adapt and restyle exercise machines, procedures and systems to cater to people with disabilities. It believes that there should be a “Universal design” which should be available to all irrespective of their limitations.

Three Day Cricket Camp
The organisation conducted a three-day cricket camp in Karnataka to encourage and identify differently-abled players. The camp was successful in finding cricketing aptitude in people with disabilities and ended with the identification of 50 to 55 good players who also got the opportunity to get tips and training from the existing players.

Wheelchair Tennis Training
DMSA has plans to conduct a 10-day training camp for specially-abled people interested in pursuing the game of Tennis. It intends to appoint an expert coach to train the players in the game and sees it as an opportunity to identify and bring together people with disabilities who would like to take up the game of Tennis.
