India Health Action Trust (IHAT) is focused on improving population health and reducing inequities through comprehensive and sustainable programmes. Its purpose is to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals by addressing health and social inequities through community-centric approaches, scientific rigour, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. IHAT's mission is to optimize and scale public health programmes, leveraging partnerships with governments and communities to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes. It believes in engaging with communities and fostering discussions across disciplines to find the best solutions. The organisation's work aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals and aims to create a healthier future by addressing the health needs of underserved populations in India.

Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit
StateThe Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UP TSU) was established in 2013 to provide techno-managerial support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh in improving Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) and Nutrition programmes. By enhancing health services at facilities and communities, offering contraceptive choices, focusing on maternal and child nutrition, and strengthening the health system, UP TSU aims to improve health coverage and outcomes in the state. The project collaborates with the Government and partners to implement innovative and comprehensive solutions, addressing critical barriers across different platforms and districts, with a special focus on high-priority areas.

Karnataka Technical Support Unit
StateThe Karnataka Technical Support Unit (KA TSU) was established in 2007 to provide technical support to the Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society (KSAPS) in implementing HIV prevention, treatment, and care programmes targeting Key Populations. It utilized an evidence-based approach for strategic planning, resource allocation, and programme management. KA TSU collaborated with Non-Governmental Organisations and Community Based Organisations to deliver HIV services to Female Sex Workers, Men who have Sex with Men, Transgenders, People Who Inject Drugs, Migrants, and Truckers. The unit focused on perception building, sensitization of the medical fraternity, personality and skill development, and social protection and empowerment to create an enabling environment and reduce stigma and discrimination. The project concluded on 15th September 2022.

Delhi Technical Support Unit
The Delhi Technical Support Unit (DL TSU) was established in 2014 to provide technical and management support to the Delhi State AIDS Control Society (DSACS) for its HIV prevention, treatment, and care programmes targeting high-risk groups. DL TSU implemented targeted interventions for key and bridge populations, including Female Sex Workers, Men who have Sex with Men, People Who Inject Drugs, Transgenders, Migrants, and Truckers. It utilized evidence-driven approaches for strategic planning, resource management, capacity building, and programme monitoring to strengthen HIV prevention services. DL TSU developed innovative interventions like Virtual Intervention, Network Operator Approach, Project Spa Wellness, and Dera Intervention, which have been adopted by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) for nationwide scale-up. The project officially concluded on 15th September 2022.

Madhya Pradesh Innovation Hub
StateThe Madhya Pradesh Innovation Hub, established in 2019, collaborates with the National Health Mission and Antara Foundation to address health challenges in the state. Using the programme science framework, it continuously examines and adapts public health programmes to improve outcomes in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health, Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and Health Systems Strengthening. The hub works closely with the Government, identifying priorities, conducting research, and testing novel interventions to translate best practices into action plans, facilitating the implementation of public health interventions at scale. One of its key focuses is on Health Systems Strengthening, where it has supported the Government in enhancing Human Resources for Health through various measures, including streamlining human resource classification and facilitating the recruitment and posting of medical officers in identified facilities.
