Child Sponsorship Programme
Under its Child Sponsorship Programme, the organisation has provided educational aid to three girls hailing from the most deprived households. This initiative made possible through the support of Karl Kubel Stiftung, Germany, and individual donors from Germany, has enabled Ms. Shruthi Bai to achieve GNM Nursing qualifications, Ms. Supriya to complete her +2 Science studies, and Ms. Shilpa to progress through her final year of engineering studies.

Micro Finance Programme

To alleviate financial challenges, the organisation has instituted a Microfinance programme in collaboration with SANGAMITRA FINANCE and ICICI Bank. This effort aims to empower individuals by facilitating access to financial resources. By partnering with Self-Help Groups (SHGs), the programme has successfully mobilized funds, securing 40 lahks from Sangamitra Finance for 26 SHGs across 27 villages in Kadur blocks, and an additional 24 lakh from ICICI Bank loans for 18 SHGs spanning 11 villages in Kadur and Tarikere blocks. These funds have been directed towards diverse purposes such as children's education, housing and sanitation construction, income generation, horticulture, agriculture, and overall economic advancement. Remarkably, 100% repayment of previous loans has been achieved, leading to the provision of new loans for continued progress.

Drought Relief Programme

Through its Drought Relief Project, Vikasana is engaged in a significant effort titled "Enhancing local capacities to combat drought in 20 villages of Kadur block, Chikmagalore district." Since April 2014, this project, backed by financial support from Karl Kubel Stiftung (KKS), Germany, and BMZ, Germany, seeks to address poverty and uplift the living conditions of 1598 underprivileged small farmer families in rural areas of Chikmagalur District, Karnataka state. The project strategically empowers local communities, fostering collective learning and sustainable practices to implement drought relief measures. The ultimate goal is to bring about positive change in the lives of marginalized individuals and enhance their well-being within the region.

Bio Sand Water Technology Programme

In an effort to provide safe and sustainable drinking water, the organisation has initiated a Bio-sand Water Technology Programme in three villages of Kalkere Gram Panchayath, Kadur block, Chikmagalur district. This intervention, supported by financial assistance and technical guidance from People for Progress in India (PPI), Seattle, WA, aims to ensure convenient access to purified water through Bio-sand water filters. The positive impact is evident as 80 beneficiaries now enjoy water that is free from contaminants, leading to a reduction in waterborne diseases. The programme's success is further highlighted by the consistent availability of purified bio-sand water, contributing to improved living conditions in these rural communities.
