The trust was established with the primary object of commemorating an eminent social worker and now operates in multiple areas with the sole purpose o Read moref achieving holistic societal development. Their focus is on activities relating to five core areas of vocational training, education, agriculture & agricultural sciences, animal husbandry and promotion of rural art & craft. The primary activities are further diversified into various projects with the aim of character building among the masses and generating self awareness. In the education sector, they have undertaken the operation of a higher secondary school, a residential hostel for students, free of cost annual special education classes, one-teacher schools (ekal vidyalayas) for forest dwelling communities, cultural training centers and science conclaves. Activities in the agriculture sector promote organic farming by educating and training farmers about the ill-effects of chemical based farming through comprehensive training modules. Plantation of fruit bearing trees has also been undertaken with the aim of utilizing landmass with forest undergrowth and providing self-employment opportunities to farmers in neighbouring areas. Vocational training is being provided to unemployed youth, students and school drop outs to solve the problem of unemployment and create a workforce of employable individuals. The training is being provided under the VTP (Vocational Training Provider) scheme of Government of India in the field of Tally, basic computer skills, worm compost, dairy farming, agriculture and bamboo fabrication. Animal husbandry activities are focused on husbandry and hospice of indigenous cow species, generation of organic and cow dung manure, establishment of chilling plants and conducting research on improving immunity through cow products. Bamboo craft, pottery and metal craft are being promoted with the aim of utilizing local craft skills to generate employment and income. Apart from the primary focus activities, they also conduct health camps for routine health check ups, treatment of various diseases and eye surgeries. A separate plantation dedicated to cultivation of rare medicinal plants has also been established with the aim of finding and propagating Ayurvedic treatment for various ailments, assisting traditional medicine practitioners in generation of income and spreading awareness about appropriate usage of these herbs with healing properties.
