Watershed implementation
The centre began its involvement in watershed activities in 1994 with minor projects. This was followed by larger projects under the Rajiv Gandhi Watershed Mission in the districts of Vidisha, Sehore, Hoshangabad, Ujjain, Jhabua, and Dhar. Other significant sponsors of these watershed activities included CASA, CAPART, and WFP.
The introduction of MGNREGA in 2005 provided the organization with an opportunity to collaborate with the state government on several projects in the Mandsaur and Sehore districts under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP). In this partnership, ITC Limited, in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Watershed Mission, assigned the implementation of watershed projects under IWMP in the Mallahargarh block of Mandsaur district and the Sehore block of Sehore district.
