  • Vanachaitanya Yatra

    States

    Andhra Pradesh

    Vanachaitanya Yatras, organized by CGR as part of its Vanaprerana Udyamams, are intensive, time-bound plantation drives, mainly during the monsoon season. Since 2011, CGR has conducted various such programs, including Manjira Vanachaitanya Yatra in Medak, Palamuru Vanachaitanya Yatra in Mahabubnagar, and Krishna Vanachaitanya Yatra in Krishna district. These initiatives involve planting numerous saplings and raising awareness among school children, youth, and villagers.

  • Bangaru Telanganaku Balala Haritaharam

    In 2015 and 2016, CGR collaborated as a partner in the esteemed Harithaharam initiative of the Telangana State Government. CGR played a key role by engaging 4,26,316 students from 1,788 government high schools in Nizamabad, Warangal, and Medak districts to plant a total of 9,26,480 saplings.

  • Kalam Smruthivanam

    States

    Andhra Pradesh

    CGR, in pursuit of fostering lush and tranquil school environments, initiated tree planting activities in government high schools under the Kalam Smruthivanam program. This endeavor encompassed 52 schools across Warangal, Mahabubabad, and Jangaon districts. A total of 5,000 mature and tall saplings, spanning 13 different species, were planted to maximize their chances of thriving.

  • Kasturi Balikavanam

    CGR introduced the Balikavanam program to support the nutritional, health, ecological, and overall well-being of girl students. This initiative involved planting a diverse array of fruit-bearing, medicinal, ornamental, and shade-providing tree species. CGR executed this program in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) in Wanaparthy district from August 17 to September 2, 2017. A total of 2,787 saplings were planted across 9 KGBVs and 3 TS Model Schools in seven mandals, engaging 2,175 students. Additionally, the program extended to three TS Model School Girls hostels, offering vegetable seeds for kitchen gardens, compost, and maintenance tools for the Balikavanam.

    GrACE, committed to ecological equilibrium and recognizing the priceless services rendered by hill ranges, emphasizes the protection of these tranquil hills, their invaluable resources, biodiversity, sustenance, and the survival of indigenous communities and others. This mission pursues its objectives through:
    1. Advancing the Eastern Ghats Conservation Programme at the national level by fostering collaboration and synergy among individuals and organizations from various sectors of society.
    2. Garnering national and global attention to the conservation of the Eastern Ghats.
    3. Encouraging positive actions and eco-resilience within communities and individuals in the region to safeguard the hills and their biological resources.
