The Economics of Happiness project is focused on meeting human and ecological needs through spirituality and has two components. One is a film which highlights the social, spiritual, and ecological costs of a global economy and the benefits of localization. The other component is international conferences where talks and panel discussions are held to discuss the global-to-local theme. Apart from India, it has active operations in UK, USA, Spain, Australia, Thailand, Bhutan and Japan.

The Ladakh Project aims to maintain the balance between ecology and social harmony which is under threat from large-scale tourist activities. The activities are focused on preventing problems typically associated with industrialized regions such as rural to urban migration, unemployment, pollution and conflicts and finding solutions to these problems by undertaking sustainable developmental activities with local knowledge and resources. Local Future’s Ladakhi team is dedicated to relocalizing food systems and revitalizing traditional practices. In partnership with indigenous organizations and the local government, the organisation facilitates workshops and dialogues about food, farming, and traditional knowledge. It also encourages responsible tourism and creates short films addressing Ladakh's current challenges.
