  • Water

In partnership with a prominent corporate foundation, Arthan Foundation is dedicated to enhancing government involvement in the water sector. The efforts revolve around strengthening the capabilities of grassroots water organizations, fostering collaboration among key stakeholders to facilitate dialogue and the co-creation of sustainable solutions, and establishing a water fellowship program.
Arthan is committed to strengthening the social impact ecosystem and fostering a just and equitable society by:
    1. Connecting relevant, skilled, and passionate talent with mission-driven organizations dedicated to solving our most urgent challenges.
    2. Co-creating innovative solutions in collaboration with diverse stakeholders across the impact ecosystem.
    3. Collaborating with the NGO community to design initiatives that drive systemic change.

  • Women's leadership in the development sector

Through a partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation, Arthan Foundation produced a comprehensive report titled 'Women’s Leadership in the Development Sector.' This report delves into the workplace challenges that women encounter, explores how men can actively support them, and offers recommendations for organizations to become more gender-responsive and inclusive. It features in-depth case studies of over 50 women leaders in the development sector, a survey completed by more than 100 professionals from the development sector, and is enriched with secondary data and insights from male leaders.

  • Building civil society organisations of the future

Amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, Arthan Foundation initiated the 'Building Civil Society Organisations of the Future' (BCSO) program. This ambitious endeavour engaged over 6,000 participants and featured contributions from 300+ speakers representing organizations such as The Rockefeller Foundation, Centre for Policy Research, Ford Foundation, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Boston Consulting Group, SEWA Bharat, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and EdelGive Foundation. BCSO was designed to tackle the challenges and opportunities within the ecosystem, particularly in light of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which faced setbacks due to the pandemic. This initiative aimed to co-create solutions, navigate the pandemic's impact, and shape the future of civil society organizations in India. It convened a diverse range of experts, practitioners, and thought leaders, covering themes such as gender, climate change, strategy, governance, and capacity building.

  • Capacity building for NGOs

Arthan Foundation has been actively engaged in capacity building for various organizations within the social impact sector, particularly in the realm of human resources and organizational development.
One notable collaboration involved partnering with an action-oriented research organization in the nonprofit sector. Together, the organisations worked to enhance their human resource policies, focusing on mid-term evaluations, salary benchmarking, the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs), and the provision of capacity-building training. This collaborative process was tailored to their specific needs and was successfully implemented across a team of over 100 employees. As a result, the organization was able to operate more efficiently within the framework of these new policies.
