Plastic Reprocessing Unit and Waste Management Training Centre
The organisation operates a Plastic Reprocessing Unit and Waste Management Training Centre that actively contributes to the 'Plastic Free India' campaign. In collaboration with the local Government, it established a recycling plant handling 2 tons daily, employing 11 individuals directly. With support from the Urban Local Body and Rotary Club, they have a dedicated warehouse and machinery for plastic waste processing. Its mechanical recycling process includes segregation, doorstep collection, washing, milling, and various stages leading to extrusion, which positively impacts the local environment and creates continuous employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups, particularly women living below the poverty line. This initiative, aside from its significant environmental and public health benefits, serves as a revenue-generating model, benefitting both the community and the environment.
