A Social Return on Investment Study (SROI) was conducted to assess the impact of education initiatives. This study engaged various stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and students, to evaluate the impact of Adani Foundation's education support initiatives (such as infrastructure development, teacher training, learning programs, and health awareness) under its CSR efforts. It revealed that infrastructure development held higher value compared to training or programmatic support. Respondents also shared perspectives on tangible benefits, such as cost savings and added value, enhancing Adani Foundation's mission for inclusive and sustainable societies. The findings were transparently shared with stakeholders and discussed to validate results and make any required program adjustments.

  • Assessing the impact of Skill and Employment Program for the Retail Sector

Reliance Foundation initiated its Skilling and Employment Program for the retail sector, collaborating with training partner institutes. The program covered topics such as retail fundamentals, housekeeping, visual merchandising, and health and safety. A retrospective impact evaluation, conducted by 4th Wheel Social Impact, assessed the program's impact on alumni. The evaluation found high satisfaction rates among students in both virtual (98%) and in-person (93%) training batches, with positive feedback on trainers and curriculum. The Skilling and Employment program facilitated stable job placements for alumni, especially in the retail sector.
Alumni reported improvements in soft skills like communication, retail skills, and self-esteem due to the program. Additionally, the program significantly improved the living standards of nearly half of the participants by providing employment and increasing household incomes.

The World Bank Group and North East Council commissioned this project, executed in collaboration with the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation and Global Himalayan Expedition (GHE). The consultancy aimed to formulate a strategic action plan for enhancing tourism competitiveness and upgrading value chains within the popular tourism market segments of North East States (NES) through initiatives led by women and communities.
This project spanned one year and encompassed five crucial stages: inception, baseline study, enterprise survey, development of a strategic action plan, and the implementation of pilot actions. The study highlighted critical issues faced by tourism enterprises, including limited knowledge of marketing, inadequate access to finance, and the absence of business continuity planning.

  • One Home One Toilet (OHOT) Program

    States

    Maharashtra

Shelter Associates (SA) has been implementing the One Home One Toilet (OHOT) program to address open defecation issues in slums like Pimpri Chinchwad and Kolhapur. The program aimed to reduce the strain on community toilets, eliminate open defecation, and enhance health and hygiene in these communities.
A retrospective impact evaluation, conducted by 4th Wheel Social Impact and funded by the HT Parekh Foundation, focused on the OHOT program. In the past, Community Toilet Blocks (CTBs) were challenging to access for children, elders, pregnant women, and individuals with injuries or disabilities due to water overflow, making pathways slippery. After the construction of household toilets, 88% of respondents reported improved access and convenience.
Privacy was another concern, as CTB toilets lacked doors or latches. Women expressed safety concerns, often requiring company when visiting CTBs after sunset. With the installation of household toilets, respondents noted improvements in privacy
