Engaging men to improve family planning and nutrition outcomes
StateStates
Bihar
In the rural regions of Bihar, there are two pioneering community initiatives aimed at actively involving men in the decision-making processes and activities related to family planning and nutrition. A recent report sheds light on these significant programs, known as Dekh-Rekh and Hamari Shaadi, Hamare Sapne, and explores the potential for their wider adoption and the factors contributing to their scalability.
Dekh-Rekh and Hamari Shaadi, Hamare Sapne represent the culmination of a two-and-a-half-year collaboration between Dalberg and PCI India. Throughout this partnership, they engaged in various phases of development to design features and behavioural "nudges" that encourage men to embrace behaviours conducive to improved household nutrition and family planning. The project was financially supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. -
State of Play initiative
State of Play initiative is a pioneering research study examining the socioeconomic returns generated by physical activity and sports. Led by Dalberg Advisors in partnership with the Sports and Society Accelerator, this initiative is aimed at establishing India's first data-driven baseline regarding the impact of physical activity. It seeks to identify gaps that must be addressed to realize the benefits of physical activity and to adapt global best practices where relevant. With the appropriate support and facilitation, India has the potential to become the world's first nation to achieve universal physical activity.

State of Aadhaar initiative
The State of Aadhaar initiative involves three Dalberg entities. Dalberg Advisors offers strategic advisory services, Dalberg Design mobilizes individuals, communities, and organizations to cultivate innovative solutions, and Dalberg Research conducts research and analysis, furnishing clients with actionable resolutions to their challenges.
The objective of this initiative is to get valuable data and insights, stimulating constructive dialogues regarding the future of Aadhaar. The influence of Aadhaar extends globally, as other nations look to India's example while contemplating the implementation of their digital ID programs.
Dalberg aims to determine whether residents perceive Aadhaar as an accessible form of identification for everyone and to what extent it influences their access to welfare programs linked to Aadhaar. It investigates users' viewpoints on privacy matters in relation to their interactions with Aadhaar. -
