Kailash Satyarthi and activists from Bachpan Bachao Andolan arose from the urgent need to re Read morehabilitate children rescued from child labour, trafficking, and slavery. It provides a nurturing haven, Bal Ashram, established in 1998, offering love, care, and essential tools for growth while empowering these children to advocate for the silenced sufferers' rights. The Trust recognized the necessity for profound changes within communities, leading to the establishment of the pioneering Bal Mitra Gram in 2001, focusing on combating intricate issues like child marriage and labour. Additionally, to address the challenges of Banjara communities, a dedicated Banjara Education Centre was founded in 2008, providing comprehensive education for nomadic children. Furthermore, a Skill Training Centre, Balika Ashram, emerged in 2009, empowering girls and women through vocational training. The impact is evident in transformed lives—children who've become professionals and advocates for child rights globally. These empowered individuals challenge deep-rooted socio-cultural norms, receiving international accolades like the 'Global Goalkeeper' Award and 'Reebok Fit to Fight' Award, showcasing their commitment to social justice and change.

Rehabilitation Centre Programme
Established in 1998, Bal Ashram serves as a haven for children aged 6-18, rescued from labour, slavery, and trafficking. It focuses on holistic rehabilitation, fostering leadership skills, education, and awareness of rights. Through tailored care, education, vocational training, and activities, it aims to address critical needs, devise individual plans, and nurture leadership via a Children's Governance Council. This staged approach ensures physical, emotional, and educational development in Viratnagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Banjara Education Centres Programme
The Banjara Education Centres (BECs), initiated in 2008 by Bal Ashram Trust and now spanning 13 centres across Rajasthan, focus on educating first-generation learners from Banjara communities. These centres aim to combat societal challenges prevalent within these communities by enhancing education accessibility, reducing child labour, improving infrastructure, and decreasing migratory practices. Through awareness campaigns, home visits, education initiatives, partnerships, and documentation, BECs actively engage with nomadic communities in Rajasthan, empowering women, girls, and community members.

Bal Mitra Gram Programme
Bal Ashram Trust, in its two-decade journey, prioritizes equitable access to quality care, education, and government services for all communities. The creation of Bal Mitra Grams emerged from Mr. Kailash Satyarthi and Smt. Sumedha Kailash's post-rescue efforts, aim to address trafficking issues rooted in villages. This child-centred rural model envisions child-friendly villages where children actively participate in the panchayat, ensuring their voices are heard regarding issues like child marriage, abuse, labour, and trafficking. Initiated in 2001 in Rajasthan, this approach expanded across states through the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation, impacting over 1,00,000 children across 540 villages, aiming to create safer spaces for girls and transform communities.
