Bal Mitra Gram Programme
District
Jaipur
States
Rajasthan
Bal Ashram Trust, in its two-decade journey, prioritizes equitable access to quality care, education, and government services for all communities. The creation of Bal Mitra Grams emerged from Mr. Kailash Satyarthi and Smt. Sumedha Kailash's post-rescue efforts, aim to address trafficking issues rooted in villages. This child-centred rural model envisions child-friendly villages where children actively participate in the panchayat, ensuring their voices are heard regarding issues like child marriage, abuse, labour, and trafficking. Initiated in 2001 in Rajasthan, this approach expanded across states through the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation, impacting over 1,00,000 children across 540 villages, aiming to create safer spaces for girls and transform communities.
