Programs

  • Social Equity Inclusion Programme

The Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CSEI) is committed to advancing 'social equity inclusion' through the '5-R' framework, including Recognition, Representation, Respect, Reparation, and Reclamation. It focuses on combating inequalities caused by factors like caste, gender, religion, (dis)ability, and sexual orientation. CSEI conducts Social Equity Audits (SEA) using the 5-R model to assess policy impact on various social groups. It supports 'community-led organisations (CLOs)' founded by marginalized communities and hosts Youth Equity Forums (YEF) to create inclusive spaces for young individuals. CSEI also employs a 'fellowship' approach to empower young people from marginalized backgrounds to pursue education and community development.

  • Learning & Leadership Modules Development Programme

The Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CSEI) is engaged in developing learning and leadership modules as part of its activities. These modules include "Khel Se Mel" (KSM), inspired by the international 'Play for Peace (PfP)' programme, which focuses on fostering cooperation, fun, and inclusivity. The "Constitution Express" is another innovative initiative aimed at educating individuals and communities about constitutional values and practices. CSEI offers modules on "Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights" to enhance understanding, sensitivity, and informed choices regarding one's own body and others. Additionally, it provides a 50-hour "Social and Gender Awareness" module to empower adolescent school-going girls and engage their communities. "Foundational English" and "Life-skills" modules further contribute to CSEI's comprehensive educational efforts.

  • Inclusivity Programme

The Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CSEI) is dedicated to creating cooperative learning spaces through various initiatives. Peer-learning circles (PLCs) are organised by Girl Champions, who share their knowledge and training with groups of adolescent girls in their communities. Inclusive Bal-Sansad expands school Bal-Sansad groups by including an additional Social Justice Minister to address equity and inclusion issues. Empowered Meena-Manches facilitates discussions in safe spaces to promote gender and social awareness among girls. Vyaktitva Vikas Kendra (VVK) offers inclusive learning opportunities for Musahar students in Nadwan, allowing them to self-organize learning sessions every Sunday. These programmes contribute to CSEI's mission of fostering inclusivity and education.

  • Social Research & Policy Programme

The Centre for Social Equity and Inclusion (CSEI) is actively involved in several key activities. It conducts pioneering policy research to support social equity and inclusion for marginalized communities. In partnership with UNICEF, CSEI monitors the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on marginalized communities through community-based monitoring, involving numerous community-led organisations across multiple districts and states. It actively engages in campaigns, collaborations, and networking efforts, promoting youth collectives, peer-learning circles, and community-led organisations to advance social equity and inclusion. CSEI also plays a pivotal role in various civil society platforms and global forums addressing poverty, social exclusion, and sustainable development.

  • Education Programme

CSEI's educational efforts include the Girls Learning & Leadership Programme (GLLP), which empowered adolescent Girl Champions from marginalized communities to lead Peer Learning Circles (PLCs) during the COVID-19 lockdown, promoting girls as education leaders and raising awareness about girls' education. It is also focusing on children's learning programmes, youth leadership, social awareness, identity affirmation, mentoring, and community action. Furthermore, CSEI established Youth Equity Forums (YEF) to provide inclusive spaces for young people from diverse marginalized backgrounds, promoting identity affirmation and experiential learning. These forums, at national, Delhi, and UP levels, nurture leadership among socially excluded youth, fostering equity and inclusion in youth development.
