Established in 1992 as a registered society by the Board of Governors of IIT Delhi, the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) serve Read mores as a dynamic interface between academia and industry. It plays a pivotal role in facilitating knowledge transfer, technological innovation, and industry-academia collaboration. With expertise in program management, FITT supports activities like technology development, consultancy, commercialisation, and entrepreneurship. It was conceived based on the 1986 IIT Delhi Review Committee’s recommendation to create an industrial foundation and was initiated with government support. FITT continues to amplify IIT Delhi's research and intellectual output, making it accessible and relevant to industry and society.
